Aquatic Physiotherapy

Pool hire for Hydrotherapy

KICK Aquatic Physiotherapy

KICK no longer offers a direct hydrotherapy service, however we are still in touch with some outside providers who hire space from us to conduct hydrotherapy. If you need a physio for hydrotherapy just email us at [email protected] and we are happy to recommend a few options. Alternatively, if you would like to use your own physio to conduct hydrotherapy in our pool, just pass on the email address to them and we can send them a lane hire quote for the pool.

The outside providers who work with us offer individual assessments followed by a tailored exercise program, supervised and progressed by a very experienced Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist.
Programs are personalised to aid in your rehabilitation or target your exercise requirements.  This leads to an outcome based on your goals to optimise your recovery.

You do not need a referral from your doctor to participate in hydrotherapy, however we would like your doctor to be aware that you are starting hydrotherapy to ensure that there are no contraindications to you exercising in water.

KICK Rehabilitation FAQs

1) Can I claim a rebate from my private health fund
Yes, in most cases, if you have extras cover and are covered by the physiotherapist &/or exercise physiologist.
2) Why do I need an assessment to join the kick rehabilitation program AND DO I NEED A DOCTORS REFERRAL?
The assessment enables us to set up the most beneficial exercise program for your medical & physical needs.
You DO NOT need a referral from your doctor for our rehab program, however it is best if your doctor is aware that you are starting hydrotherapy to ensure there are no contraindications to you exercising in water.
3) WHERE CAN I BE ASSESSED?
You can be assessed by whichever doctor or allied health professional that will be conducting your hydrotherapy sessions.
4) WHO IS THE KICK REHABILITATION PROGRAM NOT SUITABLE FOR?
People with:
  • Wound or skin infections
  • Gastric virus (last symptom 72 hours prior to returning to the pool)
  • Raised temperature/fever
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Heart problems (medical clearance may be required)
  • Incontinence
