1. Swimming is a great way to keep fit during winter
During winter, kids can get restless from not being able to run around and stay active because of the cold weather. Swimming is a great way to remain fit whilst being in an indoor environment. It’s also helps to keep those energy levels maintained without having to worry about being in the cold and wet weather. 2. Keep those winter bugs at bay Higher fitness levels gained through year-round swimming build stronger immune systems that make a child more resilient to stress and illness. Some parents withdraw their children from swimming classes when the temperature drops believing it will help to avoid illness. It is an old wives’ tale that children who have ‘wet hair’ or who ‘go out into the cold’ get sick. The reality is that children who exercise throughout winter are far less likely catch colds and flu. 3. It’s always warm at KICK Learn to Swim To keep kids and babies comfortable, we have a constant water temperature that ranges between 32-33 degrees. This means even on gloomy winter days, it’s always a nice day for a swim!
